RLGT 100 Word Review: Marco Polo Port Authority 2: The Directors Cut (PA2)

Surprising. If I had 99 less words to write a review in, that would be the 1 word I would use to describe this album. For an project I’d honestly never heard of before, PA2 was actually awesome. Fun, bouncy, and that classic sound we all love to hear. Marco Polo was able to get some HUGE features to spit over his beats, and even got Michael Rappaport (yes, that Michael Rappaport) to narrate the album. Talib Kewli, DJ Premier, Inspectah Deck, Pharoahe Monch, and MORE graced this album, and its magical. Marco is going for gold with this one! (Word count: 100 words, right on the money.. get at me!)

Rating: 8/10 (not as versatile as I would have liked, but amazing for what its meant to be. Also lacking that Project Feel, but word the listen!!!)

Standout Tracks: G.U.R.U. ft. Talib Kweli & DJ Premier, Astonishing ft. Large Professor, Inspecktah Deck, O.C. & Tragedy Khadafi.

Overall, PA2 was pretty darn amazing, and really gives the listener that authentic old school feel, set with DJ scratches, thumping beats, and all. Besides P.Reign’s project, I have not listened to any of the other albums that are being nominated in full yet, but its pretty safe to say that Marco Polo came to play, and he’s got a pretty solid chance of taking the prize! Only time will tell, in the mean time, listen to the damn album here!

Two words: one love,
