This article marks the second day of our RLGT 100 word review week in honour of the Juno Awards this upcoming weekend. What better way to continue this feature than with Canadian legend Saukrates? 100 words starting, now!

RLGT 100 Word Review: Saukrates – Amani

If you listen to Canadian Hip-Hop, it’s likely that you’ve heard of Saukrates more than once. He’s been in the game since 1999, and has made many contributions to the culture since. His newest EP Amani solidifies his placement in the culture that he helped put together. The whole EP feels very cohesive, and the themes are most strongly present in this one song.

His tracks are truly built for “prime time telly”.

Rating: 7.5/10

Standout Tracks: “The Big Bang” is the standout track on this EP for me. Spitting bars over a semi-ethereal beat, BigSoxx explores issues on his family, the rap industry, and his past.
