And the 2015 JUNO Award goes too…
It seems that the urban population, or at least us at RLGT represent the unpopular mass opinion (with no disrespect meant to any of the winners of nominees at all). Coming up with only 1 out of 4 in our earlier predictions, here at the results from the 4 highlighted categories that we predicted earlier for the 2015 JUNO Awards:
Rap Recording Of The Year: Naturally Born Strangers – The Legends League Presents: Naturally Born Strangers
This one was the biggest surprise for me out of the 4. I haven’t heard much about this album, but that may be because it released in October 2013, just missing the cut for last years awards, so it may have lagged in our minds a bit. Rich Kidd continues his commercial success with this one, and good on him. This one is definitely going to need a re-listen. Big ups to Rich, Tona, and Adam Bomb on this one, anf for keeping the quality in Canadian urban culture alive. True taste-makers.
Fan Choice Award: Michael Bublé (pictured left)
Oh, Mike. Buble has been holding it down for years, and it seems that his fans are still holding strong. I have heard of some personal experiences from friends about Buble being an awesome guy in real life, so I applaud him on keeping his fans happy. I feel like there could’ve have been a few other quality picks, and I’d imagine that it was a pretty close race. Congrats to Michael.
Single Of The Year: Rude – MAGIC!
Okay, this makes sense, and probably would’ve been our other choice (besides maybe “Hold On” by Drake… who got snubbed again). MAGIC! had a huge coming out party last year, and a great performance at the show tonight, so expect nothing but great success from them in the near future.
Artist Of The Year: The Weeknd
FINALLY, we did it!!! Out of our 4 predctions, this was the one I was the least sure about, but the only one that we guessed correctly (I blame politics). It seems that my idea that Artist of the Year should be based not only on the art produced, but also the fact that this awards show has been created to showcase Canadian talent, and as an up-and-comer (if I can even say that anymore), the Weeknd was a great choice. Well done, abel.

Congrats to all the Canadian artists who won tonight, were nominated, or are working towards hearing there name called at the JUNO’s one day. You all influence the culture, and your country appreciates you. Keep proving that WE do influence the culture for the better. Also, big ups to the Juno’s for showcasing Canadians. Definitely an influence and reminder of what we want to do here at RLGT.
Thanks for everything y’all make possible,
