The biggest day in Canadian music has arrived! If you follow us at all, you saw that we reviewed a couple of the albums nominated for best Rap Recording, and today we will be making our predictions for a few of the other big categories, ahead of tonight’s ceremonies. Check us out later for a full official re-cap!

Since we already did a couple of reviews, we’ll kickstart it with Best Rap Recording.
Best Rap Recording: P.Reign Dear America – No other artist in this category had more commercial success with their project, and 2014 was a huge going out party for P.Reign, with some large co-signs including Drake and ASAP. Check out our full review of that album, here!
Fan Choice Award: Tie, Drake/Hedley – This one is the obvious choice here, in my opinion Drizzy and Hedly have 2 of the largest Canadian fan bases, and should have this race locked down. Personally I would love to see a MAGIC!, or a You+Me win the award to let some rising artists have a shot, but with fan voting that would be pretty unlikely in my opinion. Drake in my opinion should be the winner, but he’s been a notable snub in the past, including losing in all 6 categories he was nominated for in 2011 when he hosted the show.
Single Of The Year: Keisza – Hideaway: A product of Calgary, Alberta, Kiesza had one of the biggest smash hits of the year with “Hideaway”. With over 205 million YouTube hits and drawing some big name remixes, I feel like Kiesza is a shoe win in this category.
(Above: Kiesza, set to have a big year at the Juno’s in 2015)
Artist Of The Year: I feel like Kanye here… as we as with Album Of The Year I haven’t listened to enough of the nominees in this category to give a fair judgment. With that being said, I will say 2 things. 1) I do believe their could have been a few better alternative nominees, such as Kiesza who had a huge year, or even an obvious choice like a Drake. 2) the Juno’s are all about showcasing “up-and-coming” Canadian Talent, and if that is the case I would have to choose The Weeknd as the winner, as he is being placed with some pretty highly decorated Canadians already, such as Leonard Cohen, and Sarah McLachlan.
There you have it, redleadgoldteeth’s official Juno predictions. We are an urban site, so obviously we have some selective favourites that we would like to see prosper, but at the end of the day its all about the music, and its all about CANADA! Let’s see who wins big tonight!
Two words: one love,
