Two days ago while chillin’ at a friend’s place, overlooking some university drunks playing beer pong, I had heard this song come on (to my surprise, as I’d never heard of it before).
I was instantly impressed with what I was hearing. For a half-drunk to recognize dope new music; that must mean something, right?
Anyways I went over to my buddy who played the song and he explained to me a bit about the artist, A-1. He said not much was known about him, except for the fact that he came from San Francisco and made legit music.
Going home as a sane sober, I checked out his Soundcloud later that night. It seemed like my drunk-ish judgement proved my validity of my music taste.
For myself I didn’t find out much more about A-1 (other than his first name is Adam, and he raps… his twitter is “AdamRaps”) but I’m really excited about this man and hope to learn more about him in the near future. He just recently dropped a psychedelic visual for “Unpredictable” off his newest mixtape, Thurlian. Watching that video cemented my interest in this rapper.
Yesterday a new video surfaced of him rapping live in SF’s Golden Gate Park. With Chris Keys on the keyboard, A-1 drops down some real deep bars and provokes some intellectual thought.
