In this segment, we will be highlighting things that we find dope, that we think you should check out. This will range from accounts we are following, music we are listening too, clothes we are wearing, and the products we are using. Each week a different writer will be chiming in, so you’ll get a little taste of all our unique styles.
Without further ado, lets get into it.
SH*T WE LIKE: WEEK OF MAY 18TH (BY GDaddy)
WHAT WE ARE LISTENING TO: ABRA- BLQ VELVET EP
I’ve been listening to the Awful Records crew heavily for the past few months, and I came across this hidden gem. It was released a few months ago, but better late then never I guess. Abra (aka the darkwaveduchess) seems to have tapped into her own genre with this project. The EP is very minimal, and you can tell it was produced by the likes of the Awful Record crew (I think most of the project was actually produced by Abra herself). Despite the minimalism, the project is still very atmospheric. Abra legit sounds like zombie 90’s R and B singer.
Stream the project in its entirety, here!
WHAT WE ARE WATCHING: FILTHY FRANK
Really don’t know how to describe this guy. Some of the most random videos on the internet. He’s gotta bunch of characters he plays in his videos, most of them are dressed in tight Spandex suits. It was this guy who actually started the whole Harlem Shake trend. I’ve never laughed so much while watching a dude throw glass bowls at a wall (maybe because I’m a tad immature, but who isn’t).
Here’s Frank pretending to be Harry Styles
WHAT WE ARE PLAYING: MORTAL KOMBAT X
BLOOD MAN, SO MUCH BLUD
This game is the newest instalment in the Mortal Kombat series, and in my opinion, the best. I started playing the game back in the day when I was 3 years old (Still turned out to be a fine young man), and none of the other games (except maybe Mortal Kombat 9) offers what this game offers. The combo system is a bit tricky to master in this game, but when you get one off, it feels toasty.
And the fatalities have never been better.
Here’s some gameplay for those interested.
WHAT WE ARE USING: SENNHEISER HD 558’s
I’ve had these headphones for a while right now, and they’re actually pretty good. Now, to the average music listener, who most of the time wants crazy ass bass, these may not be the best for you (the bass is there, but its more clear than the boomy bass you get from bass oriented headphones). But for those who want to hear every sound the producer included in his production, these are the perfect choice!
I picked them up for like $160 when Future Shop was still a thing, but you can pick them up on Amazon for $191.
Hope you dig our suggestions to get yourself summer ready, and be sure to keep an eye out for “Sh*t We Like” every Monday!
