RLGT Style: It’s Layers to this Sh*t
After last week’s awesome female contribution from Olivia we are back with another weeks worth of styling tips for the summer. Dont’t fret ladies, last weeks RLGT Style was one of our biggest ever, so keep it locked in the coming weeks for more female style content!
As the Meek Mill (lowkey) banger goes, “It’s Levels To This Sh*t”, or in this case, layers. This week I show off a couple versatile new pickups, perfect for al summer long, and even heading back into the year. Utilizing the popular extended tee fad (they’re not only for fuckbois), I’ll show you how to turn an ordinary fit into a more fashionable option with this cheap, easy trick.
- Tee Shirt by Redleafgoldteeth (SOLD OUT, next drop later this summer!)
- Extended tank top by FTHRS ($30 at Urban Outfitters… on sale for $10!)
- Black Cargo Shorts from… anywhere really
- Gold Mono pack Vans
- Hat by U.S. Polo Assn. (IT AINT RALPH DOE!)
From the pic above, you can see I took an extremely simple fit and made it pop with some super simple, cheap, and easy options. This is an ideal summer fit for any lowkey activity, such as patio drinks, or throw on pants for a nighttime option.
The obvious touches are the red shoes and hat ($9 hat from Winners to be specific), but the real MVP of this fit is the extended tank. The tank not only separates the black, it also accents its, as well as serves as a secondary focal point. The first thing you will notice when you see the fit is the red touch, but the added layers will add some stylistic purpose.
Formatting might be a little wonky (writing this post from a borrowed iPad as my computer is officially fried..), but above you can see what I was talking about beforehand. The extended tee can be worn by itself as a casual option, or layered under a tee, button-up, hoodie, or really whatever you can think of to change it up a bit, and add a dressier feel. personally I prefer the extended tank because it takes away from the overall bulk, especially in the summer.
Overall, adding some layers to a casual fit is the easiest way to “dress up” your favourite tee, which in this case is my RLGT Canadian Artist series , limited edition tee (shamless plug game brazy). Once again this is a great way to personalize your wardrobe, one item at a time.
You know the drill by now… wear what you like! Consider these tips to be mere suggestions; be a tastemaker, not a tastetester!
