Since the days of Best Day Ever, Malcolm McCormick, AKA Mac Miller has always been one of those artists everyone has been for to blow up. Blow-up is exactly what happened, but not in a good way, more of a self-induced career explosion (or rather, implosion). For a while it looked like Mac would forever be exiled to that small corner in purgatory reserved for the rappers who should’ve been. Then things started to change; Over the past 3 years, the 23 year old has started his own label, signed a HUGE deal with Warner Bros, and has released a couple very strong projects.
Today, Mr. McCormick returns with an all new project, titled GO:OD AM. With some quite mild-to-wild features, including Miguel to Lil B, from Ab-Soul to Chief Keef, the new project definitely is full of the classic Mac Miller twists and turns. Reminiscent of some early Mac sounds, but a lot more matured, the project begs to be played through after the first 2 tracks. Mac reportedly spent over 2.5 years perfecting this one.
Find a download link for GO:OD AM over at Viperial now, or stream the “first listen” via NPR. If you dig the new sounds, go support Mac’s artistry by pre-ordering the album on iTunes, here. As a long time fan, this project is really exciting, and I’m glad to be able to have y’all enjoy it with me! Share this with someone.
