Topic: I don’t hate The Weeknd no more
I attended my first concert ever. I’ve been to the Pemberton Music Festival… but that’s a totally different experience. I went to go see The Weeknd. We had 2nd level seating. Being an all-age event, I had my doubts. The moment you enter the arena, you instantly feel a pervert because you don’t know whether the chick you are checking out is 15 or 25. It’s a real struggle.
I was stoked for Travis Scott. If the concert had Travis Scott over The Weeknd for two hours… I would not have complained. But because Travis Scott don’t give two shits and the due to the strict programming of the show, this fucker only had enough time to perform two songs. Though it was the best two (in fact, only two) Travis Scott songs I’ve ever heard live, I was let down by the one and only Kanye-Cudi swagger jacking gangsta’ himself. Rodeo is potentially one of my favourite albums this year but his performance is making me think twice. #bitter
Onto The Weeknd, the man of the hour. He was brilliant. I would give his performance a solid 11/10. The vibe seemed to be uniform throughout the arena. The energy was as fire as the flames that flared during his “The Hills” performance. You got the swaggy dancers bumping to every song (includes me), the ones who just came cause of “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills”, and you got the old folks supervising their children. But I’m not the one to judge. The Weeknd is proving to us that he is a mega-star by giving fans of all levels the best of the best.
It’s crazy to think that I once hated this man.
