RLGT Premiere: Ryan McNeil – Constellations

“Put your hands to the constellations,

Free your mind, Free your soul, ’til your bodies Vacant”

He dropped Heavy and had ’em all wanting more. He teamed up with frequent collaborators eXam & Jadeci on The Basement Tapeand they knew it was no fluke. Ryan McNeil is back with another exclusive new cut, and this time around people are going to remember the name; Young Born Kings.

McNeil, the founder and leader of the BC based hip-hop collective YBK is no stranger to the creative spotlight, so it is no surprise that the furious flow comes natural. The 19 year-old visual artist, turned clothing designer, turned buzzing lyricist dropped Heavy, the first tape to really put him on the map, in early 2015, and then followed up with the aforementioned collab tape The Basement Tape soon after.  Today we’re blessed once again with “Constellations”a bar-dense twist on Drake’s IYRTITL freestyle “6PM in New York”, complete with 5 minutes of uninterrupted & undisputable flames (…and y’all though Untitled & Unmastered was a good combination).

“Only speak in profit tense, often vent like its target practice,

And your jaw get fractured if you try to copy this”

Along with the McNeil’s most recent release, “Zombies”, and another crazy unreleased freestyle of a Flatbush Zombies sample (I got the chance to hear it already… and WOW), “Constellations” will live on his forthcoming project, TIDAL. With local fans already flocking after a the success of his last 2 tapes and a recent YBK live showcase, McNeil is poised to take aim at some of Canada’s highest toted talents. With a bevy of double-entendre’s throughout, the theme of progression is more than evident- “‘Profit tense’ meaning I want to learn and expand from every experience, I only speak if it profits my forward motion”, explains McNeil.

Premiering here on RLGT, stream “Constellations” by Ryan McNeil below, and be sure to check out more of his music over on Soundcloud. Don’t sleep; be sure to share this one around now, because TIDAL is about to make a huge splash.
