LA’s mystery man ZHU made ripples in the industry with his experimental 2015 series titled Genesis. After revealing himself, then timely going on to attract mass attention from all corners of the musical sphere with collabs including Skrillex, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, & Gallant, 2016 started off with a fresh new single called “In The Morning”. Not currently attached to any project, the single gone on to do huge numbers, including well over 1 million plays on Soundcloud already. Today an RLGT favourite, Jarreau Vandal, teams up with fellow Soulection producer Gravez for their own new hitting spin on the solo cut.
Coming off of a big year of his own, dropping the serenity EP and linking up with what seemed like everyone, Gravez readies labelmate Jarreau Vandal for this weeks release of his first “mainstream” offering with his EP, Suburb Superhero. The first single from Vandal’s newest, “Nobody Else” took the internet by storm, promptly doing half a million plays to date. With the help of a ton of love from BBC Radio1, the melodic bishop has everyone and their mum anticipating the project. Known for savvy samples fused with nonnative noises, Jarreau Vandal’s music will make you want to get up, dance, then sit back down and play the track another 22 times, just to attempt to understand how such delectable musicality could even be possible. His latest single “Small Talk” dropped yesterday (and its BONKERS), and Suburb Superhero is set to release this Friday so keep an eye out for that; Lets make this release a big one!
Check out Gravez & Jarreau do their thing on the ZHU re-work below, complete with all the bells, whistles, chimes, & of course the patented cowbells that anyone could ever want (plus, the 2nd drop is classic Gravez, so really, what’s not to love?). Check out more of Gravez on his page, including his Denzel Curry remix with Ekali (my personal favourite), and be sure to check out Jarreau Vandal’s new project when it drops this Friday – sorry Drizzy.
